This study begins with an inventory of conventional energy resources in Latin America. Afterwards, an analysis on the internal situation of the energy sector in the region is carried out, including an examination of the latin american energy situation within a world context and a revision of the internal situation in the countries. The study include non - conventional sources, such as solar energy, biogas, coal briquettes, firewood charcoal, vegetable waste, geothermics, alcoho, small hydroelectric plants, urban waste, aeolian, heat recovery and bituminous shale.
