The REALC Network consists of documentation centers and libraries of the Ministries and Energy Departments of OLADE's Member Countries, as well as organizations and institutions of higher education related to the energy sector in the Latin America and the Caribbean.
REALC is a support tool for officials of ministries and departments of energy professionals and researchers interested in the environmental and energy sector in the Region.
The portal facilitates consultation and access to library materials in print and digital formats available in each center member of REALC.
Integrate a group of libraries and documentation centers focused on working cooperatively to facilitate free access to information resources that are public and therefore of free dissemination, where we become a support mechanism for professionals, researchers and students interested in energy and environmental matters in the Region.
Our goal is to become a benchmark for access to information from the energy sector in Latin America and the Caribbean, through the timely administration and management of information resources, both print and digital, obtained through the cooperative work of the member organizations of the Network, and thus contribute to its sustainable development and support to energy integration in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Latin American and the Caribbean Network of Energy Documentation Centers offers to its user's access to library resources both printed and in digital version. If the information resource is not available or does not have a direct link to the digital document, the user can contact the center that has the required document.

Under the principle of cooperative work, the Latin American and the Caribbean Network of Energy Documentation Centers - REALC's functions include providing assistance to each of its member centers and thus contribute to its strengthening. Additionally, the Network is intended as a forum for exchange of lessons learned and successful experiences of each member organization, which can be applied to solve other center's problems and improve the quality of service provided to users.

Having statistical information on those who are our users, their place of origin, the most watched and downloaded documents essential for the network documentation centers of energy in Latin America and the Caribbean, in order to measure the impact of our actions, know the scope of our coverage and improve our service.
Currently, timely access to information and proper management of knowledge is an essential factor for institutions, hence the documentation centers members of REALC, aware of the importance of this fact, make available to its users, the bibliographical alerts of information resources entered into the database through the User registration to the Network.
