The purpose of the present study is to use the Super / Olade - BID model for computerized power system expansion planning, curruntly in use in several Latin American countries, to estimate the incremental costs related to the reduction of CO2 emissions in two countries of the region: Colombia and Costa Rica. This was done through modifications in the existing least - cost (base - case) expansion plan, to produce alternatives that entail lower CO2 emissions.
