Many of the goals of the energy transition have already been achieved. Renewables have become the most important source of electricity in Germany, and energy is being used more and more efficiently. Despite rising economic output, energy consumption is remaining steady. Furthermore, German firms are playing an outstanding role on the international energy market, developing leading technologies, and generating growth. Nevertheless, the energy transition remains a complex project. This publication is intended to give you an overview of where we stand in the energy transition and what the next key steps will be.
