This paper presents an analysis of an air/water heater, consisting of pipes, laid in a solid block; the surface of the block exposed to the sus is blackened and glazed, whereas the other surface is insulated with the outer surface of the insulation being in contac with ambient air. The block can consist of sand or a south facing wall or roof, thus the concep represents an integration of the heater with the building.
