The prime movers for AC R equipments, plants and appliances are invariably Electric drive ie., electric motor normally squirrel cage induction motors. Power consumption in these drives can be economised depending on the utilisation in individual equipments. Invariably lot of energy is wasted due to mis-management rather than the actual requirement. There is scope for considerable conservation measure with respect to AC R plants and appliances. Apart from electrical drives, other equipments such as electrical energy. Judicious use of these with automatic control drives to switch off when not required saves considerable amount of power. Power saving at the expense of the basic requirement is not the aim of this exercise but to identify areas of mis-management and sources of misuse and incorporate necessary measures for conservation of power. Many a time it happens that the equipments work on no load/idle running conditions which can be suitably identified automatically and necessary swithching logic incorporated to conserve power without sacrificing the basic requirements..
