Dakongbeng hydrothermal area is one of powerful hydrothermal areas in Himalayan geothermal belt and is located at 14 km west of town of Yunxian county, western part of Yunnan Province. This paper described its geological settings, surface manifestations, and discussed the results of chemical analysis of hot waters and soil mercury survey. Finaly, the heat content beneath the area has been estimated to be about 1.4.10 (18) J and its electrical potential is about 11 MW. cent.
