It is well known that energy problem have created enormous balance of payments problems for oil-importing developing countries. This difficult situation has in part been responsible for much of the resurgence in interest in the use of renewable sources of energy, including the direct use of solar radiation, the harnessing of the winds, and biomass. A number of technical, economic and financial factors combine to determine the investment characteristics of a renewable energy system. These factors can be combined in a computerized discount cash flow analysis to yield the internal rate of return, payback, and levelized energy cost for the system. In this paper such an intercative computer model will be presented.
