As a result of test with 20 reduced models in a wind tunnel, the aerodynamic characteristics of a series of three blades rotors are determined. These represent the preliminaries of a program aimed at developing a family of rotors which share common geometric features. The concept of a family represents a powerful tool in the selection of the geometric characteristics of a rotor that best suit a given load and wind condition. The information thus obtained is reliable and of easy access, which are two desirable characteristics of any tool used in the preliminary design of a wind system, where parametric studies, optimizations, etc. are often found.. ABSTRACT. INTRODUCTION. CHARACTERISTICS OF THE MODELS. TEST EQUIPMENT AND PROCEDURES. ANALYSIS OF THE MEASURED QUANTITIES AND COEFICIENTS. AERODYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ROTORS. REFERENCES.
