Electronic transport, Seebeck coefficient and photovoltaic measurements in perovskite ceramics of general formula MnO3Ln (where Ln = Y, Er, Gd, Sm, Nd, La) were investigated. It is observed that these compositions have p-type electronic conduction, and the photoresponse is basically produced in the ultraviolet zone of the solar spectrum. Phototransient experiments were performed to test the photovoltaic features of these materials. The photovoltaic effect as a function of lanthanide ionic size is also discussed. Samples in both bulk thick film (prepared by deposition onto alumina surfaces) astructures were compared. SUMMARY. INTRODUCTION. EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE. RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS. CONCLUSIONS.
