The purpose of this work is to evaluate the amounts of the various pyrolysis products : gases, water, tar and charcoal at temperatures varying between 450 and 1000 oC. From some of these results it is possible to predict the outlet gas composition from a gasifier such as the FRAMATOME pilot plant by considering separately the fluidized bed gasifier and the subsequent secondary reformer, the aim of which is to reduce the methane content in the gas generated in the fluidized bed. In the secondary reformer, the different gaseous species are almost at thermodynamical equilibrium. This is not the case for the fluidized bed part in which the total gas flow could be considered as a mixture of the pyrolysis gas and the gas obtained by combustion and steam reduction of the remaining wood charcoal.
