The model calculations of the efficiency of energy transfer from a light-harvesting antenna to traps were performer. The ways of the optimization of this process were considered. It was shown that the co-operative effect of the considered optimizing structural factors permits to decrease the time of excitation energy trapping several hundred times as compared to that for a uniform isotropic system. The analysis performed allowed to determine the principles of optimal organization of artificial two-dimensional light-converting systems. The relevance of these principles to those observed in vivo is discussed. THE STRUCTURE OF A PSU 'LATTICE'. NONUNIFORMITY OF AN ANTENNA. THE MUTUAL ORIENTATION OF THE TRANSITION MOMENT VECTORS OF PSU MOLECULES. THE 'FOCUSING ZONE' OF A REACTION CENTER. REFERENCES.
