SEPARATA

Concept of economy and conservation of energy should be an important criterion while designing industrial plants particularly in core sectors where heavy machineries are deployed and energy is one of the major input of value added items. The article points out the major areas where energy among other inputs are wasted in industries. Proper technical judgement in designing the plants with strict control on wasteful practices can not only assist the plant managers in economizing the manufacturing cost but also in reducing consumption of energy which is, and shall continue to remain for about a decade, a short supplied commodily in Indian scenario.
