Three simple models of fluid flow through a porous rock matrix are used to match the results of tracers tests at Wairakei. It is found that a model which allows diffusion from fractures into the surrounding rock matrix gives a better match to test results than a model which allows only longitudinal dispersion or a double porosity model.
