Interest in energy conservation measures has increased, both in industrialized and developing countries, due to the substancial increases in energy prices during the past few years. It is of particular importance to developing countries to implement measures that can lead to a reduction in energy utilization and to ensure that domestic energy supplies on imported energy is twice that of industrialized countries. However, despite widespread awareness of the situation conservation measure, for the most part, have not been implement. This has been due to the fact that know-how and experience in regard to the execution of an energy conservation project has often been lacking. A developing country that has plans to carry out energy conservation projects or which has already started, has every possibility of obtaining aid gramme e.g. SIDA. Such organizations are in a position to be able to supply aid in the form of expert help in all areas from preliminary planning through to follow up on conservation measures that already have been implemented.
