International Fuel Prices 2007
2007
---
International Fuel Prices is a long-time effort of GTZ (German Technical Cooperation) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) to provide decision-makers with data on fuel prices on a global scale. The worldwide transparency and comparability of fuel prices is an important preliminary step towards the national implementation of rational energy pricing policy. Based on our survey in mid-November 2006, our publication "International Fuel Prices 2007" provides information on diesel and gasoline prices in more than 170 countries. In the context of continuosly high fuel prices and growing concerns over energy security, this edition focuses on aspects of enhancing energy efficiency in the transport sector (authors: Dr Axel Friedrich and Falk Heinen (German Federal Environmental Agency)) and the cost of promoting biofuels (authors: Joerg Peters (RWI) and Dr. Sascha Thielmann (GTZ)).
