Currenthy, the most inmediate challenge facing the European electricity industry is that of building competitive markets. Other key challenges such as security of supply, sustainable development, acces to essential services, etc. require adequate responses. At the same time, competitive electricity prices are needed in order to fuel Europe`s economy and protect its industrial competitiveness.
