Spurred by concern for the environment and opportunities to implement technological changes, most mining companies are involved in programs to reduce dicharges of all kinds. This report summarizes their progress in reducing emissions through accelerated reduction / elimination of toxics - ARET- a voluntary program strongly supported by the Mining Association of Canada.
