Woodfuel use in Tanzania rural - based industries : brick kiln studies in Tanzania

About 90 percent of the annual total energy consumed in Tanzania is biomass - based, mainly in the form of woodfuel. In this study the main areas of energy losses were found to be related to : inappropiate kiln configuration and volume; inadequate management of the firing process; poor control of the leakage; over - firing and inappropiate size of bricks.
