this presentation discusses the extent of the power generation needs in Latin America. It reviews the current private power activity in more than 38 central and Latin American countries. Then it discusses the major trends in favor of increased activity in the next ten years and present our forecast of total power needs through 2003 and conclude with our assessment of the share of these needs that private power can be expected to account for. The analysis is based on detailed country - specific analyses.
