This report offers recommendations for minimizing the environmental and social impacts of oil exploration and production in tropical ecosystems. It examines the often devasting environmental and social impacts that have resulted from oil develpment in the tropics and offers a series of best practices, including technologies, management practices and policies, to address and mititgate these impacts.
