The major waste product in the upstream oil and gas and over the life of almost all individual wells and oil and gas fields is water. These document describe the water, discuss it's various constituentes, review the potential environmental problems, suggest means of minimizing the volumes, list the disposal methods that have been tried, recommend methods to be used for optimal environmental protection while continuing development, specify the treatments required prior to disposal and note the types of permits and studies which may be required.
