In 1988 the OLADE Secretariat with its Member Countries from the Caribbean defined a work program for that subregion's energy sector, with particular emphasis on supporting and strengthening the electricity subsector. Within that context, actions geared towards improving the overall efficiency in the power sector, have been undertaken.This event is therefore one more of the many activities that have been identified as priority for this sector includes control of electricity losses, optimal system operation and strategic financial planning.
