The purpose of this paper is to begin to examine : the contribution of greenhouse gases from energy related sources, the growth in greenhouse gas emissions from energy related sources into the near - term future (2005), the technologies that can be utilized to control and reduce these emissions in the near and longer term, and policy options that can be pursued to limit greenhouse gas emissions from the energy sector.
