The main goal of this study is to assess whether a quantified approach can contribute to a better understanding of interactions between various drivers of energy policy and, eventually, be useful to define a more efficient approach to meet different policy objectives. The approach in this study allows for a quantified assessment of policy interactions without attempting to define the intrinsic value of these policy objectives. This paper offers a first attempt, focusing on interactions between energy security and climate change mitigation.
