Anaerobic digestion is subject or world - wide attention due to its potential in the treatment of organic residues. The energy recovery by biogas production is one of its important factors. Among industrial residues, the interest in utilization of vinasse for biogas production is growing very fast. Actually, it is being installed an up-flow anaerobic sludge blanket digester for vinasse treatment in pre-industrial scale. This paper shows some experimental data about vinasse anaerobic digestion at the several level of pilot plant.
