Private involvement in rural electrification in Peru

The peruvian rural electrification policy considers the participation of the state as the sole responsible for funding and invest $857 MM during the next ten years. Nevertheless, considering Peru's macroeconomic status the availability of funds for this purpose is endangered. In this context, natural gas for rural electrification as a probable could be considered too. This study entails the desing and put into a model for private participation in rural electrification projects. Analysis of the current social and economic situation of Peru as well as the situation of the energy systems and the natural gas market, have been carried out as basis for the desidered outcome.
