Peruvian government has new policies to protect bio - diversity and to strengthen native peoples in the society. These policies are creating a new socio - environmental scenario for oil and gas activities in the Amazon. This new scenario will require changes in the environmental policy and strategies of oil companies. New strategies must be focused on support native peoples self - development projects.
