A conceptual way of viewing all reactor system is to consider them essentially as electricity - producting black boxes. The basic input to such a device is an external stack of natural uranium. Most present power reactors operate with slightly enriched input uranium, in order to sustain the nuclear reaction inside the reactor's core.
