In recent years, there has been increasing interest in exploiting and maximize use of medicinal plants
and / or secondary metabolites, however, this has triggered turn overexploitation of certain species,
threatening their survival. Currently the basic and applied research have combined to achieve
propagate species with medicinal potential and to elucidate the relevant biosynthetic pathways, with a
view to its potentiation. This research aimed to identify gene sequences related to putative transcription
factors and Tagetes patula Stevia rebaudiana. In the case of S. rebaudiana, 15genes metabolic
synthesis pathway glycosides were present in the RNA sample sequenced; T. patula was obtained than
those reported for this species in the NCBI, genes having a transcription factor also were present in the
biological material worked. For Tagetes patula, favorable for the identification of a transcription factor
which is not defined function satisfactorily in databases result was obtained. As alignments against
transcription factors described species of the Asteraceae family, the results were negative for
identifying any of them within the transcriptome of T. patula and S. rebaudiana. Future gene expression
analysis by cDNA sequencing would be more accurate by assembling a transcriptome de novo from a
complete sequencing.
