Holosalud is a community initiative founded in 1995 as a project for the Alternartive Project Assosiation – PROAL –, oriented to work on the itegration of farmer women in theSantos region. The goal looks, in first instance, to implement alternative and traditional healthcare with best practices for improvement. The proposal is a conjuction of the holistic view and alternative medicine practices. The second line of work is the production of complemetary products, such as natural shampoo, dyes ans cosmetic products, using the natural healing qualities of plants, according to farmes traditions and recognized bye the scientific community as plants with bio-active components. For over ten years, PROAL has been organizing turistic activities, named “local educational turism”, this events had participation of interns and proffesors from foreing universities from Europe, Asia, North America and Costa Rica. During the period of 2014-2015, with the support of the Dean of Investigation of the ITCR, Holosalud executed a project with the objectives of: 1. Creating a turistic product for the local and international tourists, redefining the organizational profile and strategic plan, and 2. Define an operational model for production, promotion and sale of natural cosmetic products. The result and impact of the project can be verified thru the development of the individual and colective talent on the colaboratos of Holo-salud, the organizational consolidation and the business proposal to reinforce the “local educational tourism” and the production of natural products. Other evidence of the success of the Holosalud project is the achievement of getting the permits from the León Cortés City Hall and Health Ministry; producing radical changes in the infrastructure and production process.
