Análisis hidrodinámico de cuatro estructuras hidráulicas que forman parte de la red vial nacional, ubicadas dentro de la cuenca del Río Bermúdez, Heredia

2018-08-07T22:39:47Z

In the present project a methodology was established for the hydrological and hydraulic study of four hydraulic structures which are part of the national road network located in the urban basin of the Bermúdez River located in the province of Heredia. Through the HEC-HMS software, hydrological modeling was performed to determine the maximum flow rates in return periods of 25, 50 and 75 years. Subsequently, with the results of the hydrographs generated, hydraulic modeling was carried out for each structure under study through the IBER software with the established return periods. Among the most relevant results, in the structures that are located in the lower area of the basin, the structure causes a backwater curve directed upstream that increases the water level and therefore the flood spot. In addition, the reduction of the hydraulic area that causes the structures in the channel, induces the overflow of water and increases the speed with ranges considered highly erosive for the type of material observed in the area.
