The following project has as aim to characterize the mechanical behavior of
the active part elements and the clamping structure system through a mathematical
model evaluated during the most critical condition (short-circuit). The
short-circuit study in transformer is one of the most complex, additionally, it
requires diferent disciplines for its analysis. The general steps for a transformer
dynamic study are: 1) the calculation of the short-circuit currents, which is
done by IEC-60076-5; 2) the calculation of the electromagnetic forces through
the image method and 3) mathematical combined model application for active
part and clamping structure in a dynamic analysis. The use of a mathematical
model eases and reduces time in the transformer analysis under these conditions.
Besides, It allows to analyze the behavior of many critical elements of
the system at once. In parallel, some manufacturing guidelines were de ned
for bolted joints inside the transformer (critical part, owing to the sensibility
of the oil dielectric strength), e.g. the lubrication importance and the torque
variations for diferent stages up to 140% for the same force.
