Proyecto de Graduación (Licenciatura en Ingeniería en Mantenimiento Industrial) Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica, Escuela de Ingeniería en Mantenimiento Industrial, 2016.
This project was developed in Condovac La Costa Hotel, with the objective of providing an alternative for energy generation with a positive environmental impact. Climate change is a problem that must be attacked using every available tool, so a possibility of carbon footprint reduction is designed by reducing energy consumption in lighting.
Luminaire substitution proposals will be analyzed, fulfilling the real needs of illumination in the different zones. Automation alternatives will be provided, in order to save energy by controlling the luminaries. Experimental measurements will be performed to compare with the theoretical results.
A solar installation will be designed, taking advantage of the radiation promising characteristics. Top quality equipment will be used, and the design will be made in accordance with their parameters and the current electrical codes.
A financial study will be made, in order to determine the economical validity of the proposed alternatives, by providing several parameters to assure quality.
An extensive research will be included to provide a theoretical fundament for the designed options.
