The last world petroleum´s crisis turned on the interest in energy’s save. Furthermore, the ecology adquired its due importance side by side with energy´s advantage use. So, it surges a design to help to reduce energy´s wasted by induction motors, called Power Planner. At Costa Rica, began an interest about Power Planner´s technology. But there was a problem: no technical data were available to make a correct decision to invest in this technology, so this data have had to be generate. This proyect searches to make a technical and economical evaluation of this kind of units in Costa Rican conditions. By means of instalations at the industry it was researched in a technical way the results of this technology. applied to local conditions. Measures were taken under an engineering criteria, methodic and objetive. Also were made a set of test in laboratory. The proyect culminated with a technical manual developed upon experience and real data taked from evaluated the fulfilment of this kind of tecnnology in Costa Rica.
