The Project was developed in Buenos Aires Puntarenas, in a property called “Lote 137”owned by Del Monte Agricultural Development Corporation, Pacific Pindeco Division. The porpoise of this project is to identify erosion troubles caused by surface runoff and bring forward a solution by land conservation construction works design. To this project elaboration, the land relief or land conformation was established with the use of a land survey that helped define the land slope. Also, a land sampling was performed by pits made in representative property places. Once the land samples were taken, the physical and chemicals characteristics were determined by using lab test. Subsequently land classification was conducted, based on use capacity and using the parameters or reference values toke from lab test performed in Agricultural Engineering Land Lab of ITCR. Also, the Research Department of Pindeco helped in the process to get other parameters from the land studied. Thus, after assessing the field problems in property 137, I proceeded to design the hillside ditches for surface water management, as well as practical methods for hydric erosion control in gullies. Also, pertinent recommendations were made to avoid possible contamination troubles by sediment-laden in discharge zones of main drains or hillside ditches.
