This Final graduation work consisted in the design of a drip irrigation system, using
driplines with pressure compensating emitters, for the nurseries of sugarcane in the Farm
Santa Marta, located in the community of La Ceniza, Pérez Zeledón, owned by CoopeAgri
R.L.
For the design of the irrigation system, the Agricultural Management of CoopeAgri
established the following parameters: placement of a valve on each of the lots, use of a
water pump powered with a diesel motor and surface installation of the driplines.
A topographic survey was made in order to obtain a contours map of such a property.
In addition, soil samples were taken for the respective laboratory analysis. Based on the
results of the previous data, the necessary calculations were executed for the design of the
irrigation system. Finally, a design and a pump were obtained to meet the water
requirements of the crop.
