In this article energy conservation in usage of electrical motors is discussed. The 3 basic schemes are: a. Energy efficient motors b. Delta-Star changeover scheme c. Novel design for pump applications. Energy conservation by variable speed inverted drives on pump and fan applications are also discussed. With these drives the pay back period is far too long with the current price structure.
