Environmental impact assessment is widely recognized in many parts of the world as an important tool for integrating environmental considerations into the planning process for all forms of industry and government development projects. The purpose of these guidelines is to present a set of recommended procedures for the integration of environmental and social considerations into the overall planning process for hydrocarbon exploration and developments projects.
